The Boyer Valley Community School District has 3 seats up for election on November 4: one seat for District 1, one seat for District 2 and one seat for At-Large. Candidates for District 1 must reside in Monona, Crawford or Shelby county. Candidates for District 2 must reside in Harrison County. Candidates for At-Large can reside within any school district boundary county. Nominations for open seats can be filed between August 25 and September 18.
Nomination papers for school board seats are available from the Board Secretary, located at the MS/HS office at 1102 Iowa Avenue, Dunlap, IA 51529. School board candidates must obtain the signatures of at least 1% of the qualified electors of the district or 50 electors, whichever is less, but at least 17 signatures are required.
